Well, American Idol has hit it's "lucky" number seven stride in years of production, but I can't help but wonder, is it really that interesting anymore?  Come on. Admit it: you just like the auditions.  :)

Note: This is only my opinion, and I don't think any less of hardcore fans of the show.  I, too, have my obsessions when it comes to t.v. (for example, the show Heroes).
