For too many years my vacation trips were just as harried and stressful as my business trips. I would come home and feel I had not been on a vacation at all.
A few years ago that all changed when I took a vacation trip on a mail boat that makes stops at small town ports along the Sogne Fjord in Norway, most of which are only accessible via the water. The mail boat had no internet, no email, no rushing to have meals. This trip really helped me learn to relax on a vacation.
This picture is one I took at one of the stops along the way. I keep a copy hanging in my home, and one in my office as a reminder of how important it is to take a relaxing vacation at last once a year.
