I was on  a news cast yesterday for work!  It was so nerve wracking.  Since the newscast was out of state, I spoke on the speaker phone and they filmed me speaking...  I was so nervous.  The story came out very balanced, I think so I was glad for that... I have new respect for those in media.  Some people are just naturally good at public speaking-I am not one of them.

OK, I have somewhat recovered from the fall of '07 as I now refer to it.  My knees are still slightly bruised and one shin still has a knot that is pretty sore.  My right ankle is still tender as well.  I wasn't able to exercise for a week (for those of you who know me, that is a LONG time for me...).  Anyway, I am better and the scratch marks all along our wall are starting to fade.  I am still wearing high heels to work, but less often.  I'm just thankful I feel down carpeted stairs rather than marble.

Bad Start to the Day - Oct-21-07 23:22 EDT

A couple days ago, I was running late to work.  I was hustling out the door, hot cup of coffee in one hand with my heavy work bag and purse (probably just as heavy) over the other shoulder.  Here's the fatal mistake-I was wearing high heels...  As I was rushing down the stairs, and I had only completed about 4 of the 16 or so stairs leading down to our garage, the heel of my shoe got stuck in my pant leg and wouldn't come loose.  Meanwhile, my body and all its momentum continues on toward the next step, only without any kind of support under me.  Needless to say, I fall and KEEP FALLING down at least 12 steps, until I am interrupted by the last step, which finally breaks my fall.  My coffee goes everywhere-all over the wall, all over the stairs, all over my hair and outfit and its HOT.    I have multiple bruises, 4 scrapes and 2 skinned up (one bleeding) knees.  I couldn't move, at least for a minute or so until I figured out what the $%^# happened.  I managed to get myself up and go to work that day, even though I really just wanted to go back to bed.  All of this happened while my husband was fast asleep.  I can't imagine how he didn't hear my yelps!

My Cubicle - Sep-13-07 22:17 EDT

Now that Ceehive has this awesome embed feature and I can directly post YOUTUBE videos, I have to post one of my favorites. I have talked about this for a while (actually Brian first told me about it), but apparently some of you still haven't seen it. Its called "My Cubicle", a take on James Blunt's "You're Beautiful". If you work in an office or have ever had a cubicle, you will understand. It is just well done. Cudos to whoever did it! It brings a smile to my face:-)
